Ciaran Thompson is the Director of Young Horse Development at Clear View Farm, LLC. Hailing from Ireland, Ciaran grew up in a horse-loving family, benefiting from exceptional education and mentorship from an early age. As a dedicated member of Pony Club, he earned his ‘A’ certification while pursuing a degree in Animal Sciences at University College Dublin. Ciaran later represented Ireland at the Student Rider Nations Cup in Germany, an Intercollegiate catch riding competition. He distinguished himself by placing in the top five in each discipline and contributing to his team's bronze medal win.
Ciaran achieved considerable success running his own business in Ireland, where he specialized in producing and competing young horses at prestigious events like the Royal Dublin Horse Show. His impressive skills led to his selection to work and ride in the United States.
In 2008, Ciaran was recruited by Bruce Davidson Sr. to join his program, where he brought his expertise in spotting, producing, and matching talented young horses with riders. His efforts have significantly contributed to the success of several horses that have achieved world-class status in show jumping and five-star eventing.
In 2017, Ciaran transitioned to Spy Coast Farm, advancing from managing the 2-4 year old development program to leading the entire Young Horse Development Center, overseeing nearly 150 horses.
Now based at Clear View Farm with his wife, Alexa, Ciaran continues to share his passion for equine development and education. His extensive knowledge and experience make him a vital asset to the Clear View team, where he also engages in agricultural development and management projects.
